Our client is a dynamic international retail chain actively scaling across Ukrainian and European markets. Currently, the company operates 1800+ locations and employs over 17 000 people. The partner’s business model is built on a combination of modern merchandising concepts, high operational efficiency, and a dedicated focus on customer experience.
The company initiated a strategic transformation – entering the new Food services segment. We were entrusted to find a leader capable of building this division from the ground up within a large corporate structure. The objective of the role is to create a profitable business unit that will compete with market leaders in the quick-service industry.
The Head of Food position required a blend of executive and entrepreneurial skills. Key responsibilities for the future candidate included:
- Developing a growth strategy for Food formats.
- Full-cycle P&L management and accountability for the division’s EBITDA.
- Establishing logistics and implementing quality standards (HACCP, SOP).
- Launching MVP pilots and their subsequent scaling across the entire network.
Recruitment Challenges and Process
The search was particularly challenging due to high expertise requirements: the company needed a candidate who simultaneously understood on-site operational processes and possessed strategic vision.
